NEW YORK (AP) - Cincinnati wide receiver Chad Ochocinco and New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott were each fined $20,000 by the NFL on Friday for violating the league's uniform policy.
Ochocinco wore gold cleats during the Bengals' 27-21 loss at Pittsburgh on Monday night. He was previously fined $25,000 for violating the league's social media policy.
Scott was fined for playing without having his chin straps snapped at all times - a safety issue - during the Jets' 23-20 overtime victory at Detroit last week.
Minnesota wide receiver Bernard Berrian was also fined $5,000 for wearing yellow cleats during the Vikings' 27-24 overtime victory over Arizona last Sunday.
Baltimore defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was docked $10,000 for hitting Miami quarterback Chad Henne "unnecessarily" with the crown of his helmet. Ngata was also penalized for roughing the passer on the play Sunday.
Indianapolis' Gary Brackett also received a $10,000 fine for a similar play in which he was penalized after slamming into Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick's chest with his helmet.
The league also confirmed that Carolina's Jon Beason was docked $10,000 for unnecessary roughness after hitting New Orleans Marques Colston - whom the league deemed a "defenseless player" - in the head and neck area. Beason was previously fined for unnecessary roughness last season.
Beason said Thursday that the fine was unwarranted and he vowed to appeal.
Detroit's Julian Peterson was fined $7,500 for unnecessary roughness after hitting the Jets' LaDainian Tomlinson late and out of bounds, helping New York on its tying drive.
Giants safety Kenny Phillips was fined $5,000 for a major facemask penalty on Seattle's Marshawn Lynch.
