Pack 100 of Dayton collected several hundred pounds of food for the Dayton Food Pantry during their annual Scouting for Food event this week.

The boys of Pack 100 spent two weeks canvassing the Dayton and Mark Twain neighborhoods door to door seeking donations. There were 27 boys, ages 7-10 who participated.

Freida Carbery, director of the Dayton Food Pantry said that she was amazed at the amount of food the boys were able to bring in.

"This years Scouting for Food event was by far the best in years. The community's response was overwhelming," said Lee Kennedy, Cubmaster of Pack 100. "I am so proud of all of the boys who participated in the program. They all worked so hard. They really deserve kudos."
