Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Francisco Arroyo, 24, of Carson City, was arrested at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Brown Street on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, preventing a victim from reporting a crime, gross misdemeanor child abuse and two counts of misdemeanor battery. Arroyo allegedly threw a pillow which knocked a candlestick into the face of a 2-year-old. When the boy's mother threw the candlestick at Arroyo, he allegedly hit her with it. A short time later, Arroyo allegedly kicked the 2-year-old boy as he played at a coffee table, knocking the child to the ground. When the mother confronted him, he allegedly threw her into a coffee table. When she tried to call police, he took her phone away, the report states. The woman left the apartment with her toddler and 11-year-old son and called police. Arroyo's bail is set at $50,000.

• A 30-year-old salesman from Carson City was arrested at 11:39 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of misdemeanor theft. Bail was set at $1,000.

• A 56-year-old cook from Carson City was arrested at 6:07 p.m. Wednesday in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of drunken driving and failure to maintain a lane. Bail was set at $1,239.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Report of money and jewelry taken from a home in the 1300 block of Continental Drive sometime Tuesday night.

• A mother reported at 3:06 p.m. that her child was battered at Carson Middle School earlier in the day.

• Report of game console and other items stolen from a home on Morris Circle sometime before 4:39 p.m.

• Single-vehicle rollover in Voltaire Canyon at 5 p.m. The 16-year-old driver escaped without injury. His friends came and righted the vehicle, but it wouldn't start. The driver was released to his parents.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Report of two men arguing after one confronted the other for parking in a handicapped spot on East Newlands Drive in Fernley at 12:50 p.m.
