INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - Regional emergency crews are searching near the Galena Creek Park for a hiker who apparently lost his way Sunday night in the snow storm, officials said Monday.

Mike Brown, chief of the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, said his staff has dispatched a snowshoe team and a snowmobile in an attempt to locate the man, who was reported lost Sunday night. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office and others are assisting in the search.

According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, the man was a hiker who phoned law enforcement around 5 p.m. Sunday saying he was lost and not dressed for the extreme cold. A WCSO-led search Sunday night was unsuccessful.

The man was wearing a red-colored sweater or pullover jacket, according to the RGJ.

Galena Creek Park is located off Highway 431, about halfway between Incline Village and Reno.
