Kaepernick 1 of 5 finalists for top senior qb

RENO (AP) - Nevada's Colin Kaepernick has been named one of the five finalists for the 2010 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award recognizing the top senior college quarterback in the nation.

The other finalists announced late Monday are TCU's Andy Dalton, Florida State's Christian Ponder, Iowa's Ricky Stanzi and Wisconsin's Scott Tolzien.

The winner will be announced Dec. 10.

Past recipients of the award founded in 1987 have included Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Carson Palmer and Rodney Peete. Colt McCoy won it at Texas last year and Matt Ryan at Boston College the year before that.
