LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say the stabbing death of a woman in an apartment and the death of her boyfriend when he was hit by a truck on a freeway were connected.

Police released a statement Tuesday calling the case a murder-suicide.

Police say the woman's body was found early Tuesday with multiple apparent stab wounds in an apartment several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.

About an hour later, police say a taxi driver parked his vehicle on U.S. Highway 95 and stepped in front of a passing truck. He died later at an area hospital.

The names of the two people were not immediately made public.

Police say the two had been in a dating relationship for about a year and a half, and lived together.
