LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has suspended the search for a Reno hiker missing since Sunday, saying it's unlikely he's still alive after four days in the snowy wilderness.

KOLO-TV reports 55-year-old Rick Gentry went hiking Sunday near the Galena Creek Trail, and called 911 several hours later for help.

Gentry said he was lost. He hasn't been heard from since.

The search across rough terrain and heavy snow has not been easy.

Search crews have found no signs of Gentry.

The search could continue next week if the weather permits.

Deputies say it will be a recovery effort, not a rescue mission.
