Man jailed in death of 2-year-old

A Silver Springs man was arrested Saturday in the death of a 2-year-old boy.

Cody Wallace, 22, is being held in the Lyon County Jail on suspicion of felony first-degree murder and child abuse.

Wallace was home alone Nov. 23 with his girlfriend's 2-year-old son on Winchester Road in Silver Springs when the boy stopped breathing on Nov. 23.

"The child was transported by ambulance to Carson Tahoe Hospital and he was later Care Flighted to Renown," a brief news release from the Lyon County Sheriff's Office states. "The child sustained multiple injuries and passed away."

The case is under investigation.

Wallace is being held without bail.
