Uncle Jimmy Fair who doesn't know the difference between a primary election and a county convention, is too innocent for active political service at Washington. If elected he might not even know what party to vote for.

100 YEARS AGO

This morning Mr. Oldenberg of the Nevada Fish Hatchery at Verdi arrived in this city and immediately took a rig for Washoe Lake where he will plant 1,250 black bass. The bass were secured from a pond near the State University. Also planted were a number of craw fish on the Carson River. Soon there will be considerable numbers for a good feast.

70 YEARS AGO

Rain fell heavily in Carson much of last night, and the mountains west of the city were white this morning with snow that fell far down the valley during the night. Snow was still several inches deep on automobiles coming down from Tahoe.

50 YEARS AGO

A 16-lane bowling alley scheduled to open Jan. 1 is under construction south of town between Colony Road and U.S. Highway 395.

20 YEARS AGO

Parks commissioners told a developer to go home turning down a potential $100,000 donation to buy part of Fuji Park for the expansion of a recreational vehicle park.

10 YEARS AGO

Congress OKs a DUI national standard of 0.08 blood alcohol content. States face losing federal highway funds if standard isn't adopted locally.
