A Carson City couple were jailed Monday after the woman stabbed the man's ex-girlfriend, then the man threatened to kill the ex-girlfriend if she called police.

Christopher Schumacher, 28, was arrested at 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of Como Street on suspicion of felony dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.

Lynsey Kieffer, 21, was arrested on suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, the 21-year-old victim was in the parking lot of a Carson Street casino around 2 a.m. Monday when she saw her ex-boyfriend, Schumacher's, new girlfriend, Kieffer. The two women got into a fist fight, and Kieffer allegedly stabbed the victim. Then Kieffer left on foot while the victim got a ride to the hospital from a friend, according to the arrest report.

A short time later Schumacher allegedly sent text messages to the victim saying "don't tell on her or I will kill you."

When a deputy questioned the victim at the hospital she initially lied about the incident, saying she was jumped by a stranger. But upon further questioning she admitted what happened.

Casino surveillance footage also captured the assault. Schumacher's bail is set at $15,000. Kieffer is being held on $30,000 bail.
