Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, you fought so hard for so very long. You are loved by so many and will never be forgotten.

Rich was born in Middletown , Conn., to Walter and Anne Liska. Rich served in the Navy and married his childhood sweetheart, Daphne Ely. Their union was blessed with daughters Susan Ballestrini and Robin Curran. Rich worked at the Lee Co. in Westbrook, Conn. Rich was blessed with an amazing musical talent, coming from a musical family. Rich and his brother David John formed many bands and played all over the country as well as a Vietnam USO tour. Rich divorced and was remarried to Marcia Wheeler. They lived in Centerbrook, Conn. before moving to Gardnerville in 1990. His brother David John and his wife Dien Liska moved to Gardnerville as well. Here they joined other musicians to form David John and the Comstock Cowboys.

Rich lost his battle with cancer and will be missed by so many. He is survived by his wife Marcia; daughters Susan Ballestrini and Robin Curran of Waterford, Conn.; brothers Walter Liska and David John Liska and sister Gloria Sikorski. all of East Haddam, Conn.; three grandchildren; two nieces, and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew David Liska Jr.

Rich passed away peacefully at home with the wonderful support of Hospice. Your music will play on in our hearts forever. Autumn Funerals & Cremations has been entrusted with the arrangements.
