Carson River cleanup Saturday

The Carson River Advisory Committee, Chamber of Commerce and Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Carson River cleanup starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Volunteers are needed to help plant trees to keep the riverbank solid, painting and putting sand on the lower tree trunks to prevent damage from beavers, trimming dead limbs and more.

This year the emphasis will on preparing the river along the Jarrard Property, Carson River Park and the Silver Saddle Ranch.

Volunteers will meet at Carson River Park beginning at 8:30 a.m. and be assigned tasks.

Work is expected to be completed by noon followed by a barbecue.

Volunteers may call the Chamber at 882-1565 to sign up for this event or just show up at Carson River Park.
