Another round of wet weather is expected to enter the region by Sunday with snow falling in higher elevations, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.

"It could even be raining for several hours on Sunday," said Mark Deutschendorf, a meteorologist with the NWS. He said there could be some thunderstorms on Sunday, too.

The snow is expected to fall in elevations above 8,000 to 8,500 feet, which may affect some Sierra roads. The valleys could be in store for heavy rain and small hail.

Deutschendorf said scattered showers are expected to continue on Monday with temperatures dropping into the low 60s or below starting Sunday.
