If you are looking for a safe place to take the kids for Halloween, Lake Side Properties is hosting a Halloween celebration Oct. 28 to benefit Carson City Animal Services.

From 6-8 p.m. at the office at 3250 Retail Drive, there will be candy, hot dogs, sword fighters, face painters and a costume contest with the winner receiving a Gamestop gift card.

Admission is pet food for the animal shelter. The adults will be submitted in a raffle for a wine gift basket.

Owner Kimberly Seifert said there also will be tarot card and palm reading and that Lisa Davis with the Carson City Sheriff's Office will attend with the DARE car and to distribute children's ID kits to parents.

There also will be free hot cider, cocoa and, of course, plenty of Halloween candy.

"We're just trying to put on an event to give people a safe place to bring their kids for Halloween and help the animal shelter," Seifert said.
