Explain your background and how this qualifies you for the position you are
seeking.
I have been practicing in criminal law, general civil and family law for
about 20 years. Prior to becoming the deputy district attorney in Storey
County in 2007, I was a justice of the peace and deputy D.A. in Elko County
for more than a decade. Prior to attending law school at age 40, I was a
systems analyst/programmer specializing in database management systems. I
am a U.S. Navy veteran.
My background uniquely qualifies me for the office because not only do I
have a proven track record in Storey County, my combination of education and
life experience will continue to be employed in performing the duties of the
office.
What are the most important issues that you would address if elected?
As I have for the past three years, I will continue to stress the fair and
impartial prosecution of criminal offenses, seeking justice above all else.
I plan to expand our services to the community by outreach in education to
help citizens avoid being victimized.
The civil case load of the county will be brought back into the District
Attorney's Office so that the county is no longer required to expend
thousands of dollars for outside legal counsel.
Why should voters choose you over other candidate?
I am the only candidate for Storey County DA who has an active connection to
the county and voters can rest assured that they will be treated with the
respect they deserve and the experience they can count on.
