Students, teachers and residents of Carson City will have an opportunity from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. today to tour the new C-SPAN Digital Bus. On a national tour for Charter Communications, the bus will stop at the Carson City Library, 900 North Roop St.

C-SPAN's new customized coach engages visitors of all ages through interactive multimedia. Hands-on demonstrations feature the C-SPAN Video Library and the network's social media programs. There also are special resources for civics teachers and their students.

The digital bus is designed to provide interactive, self-guided multimedia tours with TV monitors to demonstrate the C-SPAN Networks in both standard and high definition; computer kiosks demonstrating web offerings including the video library; and laptops and mobile application devices to demonstrate C-SPAN's social media presence and radio offerings.

"The digital world opens up so many new learning experiences," said Scott Dockery, Charter's director of operations in Carson City.

In Carson City, C-SPAN can be seen on channel 20, C-SPAN2 on channel 236 and C-SPAN3 on channel 235.
