Alder Creek Middle School swept all four races at the Tah-Neva Championships that were held recently at Kahle Park.

Alder Creek won the 7th-grade girls with 46 points followed by Carson Middle with 62 and South Tahoe and Carson Valley with 77 each. North Tahoe was next with 99 and Eagle Valley was last at 152.

Baily Gansberg of Carson Valley took fourth over the 2.1-mile course with a 16:43. Athena Favero was the next local finisher with a 17:16, good for seventh place. Allison Meyer of Carson Valley was 11th in 17:25, Lizzy Byrne, also of Carson Valley, was 12th in 17:25. Carson Middle's Tess Corda was 14th in 17:34 and Alison Greene, also of Carson Middle, was 15th in 17:35. Kacey Lopes of Carson Middle was 18th in 17:46.

In the 7th-grade boys race, Alder Creek won with 51 points, while North Tahoe and South Tahoe were second and third with 60 and 77 points, respectively. Carson Middle was fourth with 108, Pau Wa Lu was seventh with 181 and Carson Valley was ninth with 216.

Michael Johnson of PWL won the 2.15-mile race in 14:06, while Carson Middle's Joshua Castillo was eighth in 14:51. Eagle Valley's Michael Mendoza was 11th in 15:20, PWL's Eric Jacobs was 20th in 16:03 and Carson Middle's Asa Carter was 21st in 16:06. Carson Valley's Owen Elmquist was 23rd in 16:11.

In the 8th-grade girls race, Alder Creek took five of the first 10 spots and finished with 17 points. PWL's Lindsey Adams was second with 18:40, while Carson Middle's Melissa Castillo was sixth in 20:29. Natalie Williams, also of Carson Middle, was eighth in 21:30. Olivia Abbott of PWL was ninth in 21:47 and Shelby Brown of Eagle Valley was 11th in 22:42. Danielle Balderson, also of Eagle Valley, was 13th in 23:56. Sarah Christi of Carson Middle was 14th in 23:59 and Eagle Valley's Lake Shank was 15th in 24:03.

In the 8th-grade boys race, Alder Creek was first with 17 followed by South Tahoe with 49 and Carson Middle with 54.

Adrian Gutierrez and Caden Lehman, both of Carson Middle, finished eighth and 10th, respectively. John Ariz of Carson Middle was 15th in 20:04 and Brandon Pierce of Carson Valley was 18th in 20:14. Eagle Valley's Daniel Jauregui took 21st in 21:18.

Kim Boykin teamed with Charlotte Webber, Gerri Murphy and Mary Bennett to win the 4-Gal Pink Ball event with a 128 at Eagle Valley-East last week.

Finishing second a stroke back were Joyce Boecher, Deb Ford, Mary Phillips and Loretta Szymanski. Another stroke back at 130 were Linda Davis, Carol Casela, Eva Sulprizo and Mary Harrison. Kathy Kennady, DeeDee Murray, Janice Scott and Gail Nelson were fourth with a 131.

Jerry's Kids lead

way in Mosconi

Jerry's KIds have a one-point lead over Rack Fink in the Mosconi Division of the Carson City chapter of the American Poolplayers Association.

David Giovacchini of Jerry's Kids leads the 6-7 tier with 23 points, while Edwin Scrivner of Rack Busters is second with 17. Mike Snoddy of Cues Yer Daddy leads the 4-5 tier with 21 points, while Phil Jones of Jerry's Kids is second with 17. Eric Richards of Support Rackless Habits leads the 2-3 tier with 15 points, while Janice Cameron of The Spoke and Nicole McGlone of Squeeze Play are next with 12.

In the Comstock Division, 9-Spoke leads Dean's Machine by 10 points and Big Dogs by 28.

Alex Gutierrez of Dean's Machine and Daniel McRae of Rack Busters are tied for first in the 6-9 tier with 17 points each. Robert Wilson of Poke 'N Hope leads the 4-5 tier with 32 points, four ahead of the Rack Busters' Robert Matteson. James Panos of Rack Busters leads the 1-3 tier with 23 points, four ahead of Lawrence Gloisten and Derek Garnett, both of 9-Spoke.

CHS wrestling team hosting poker night

The Carson High wrestling team will be hosting a poker night fundraiser at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19 at the Carson Plaza Conference Center, 211 E. Ninth St. Check-in and food is available at 6 p.m. with the Texas Hold'em game starting at 7 p.m.

Cost is $50 for a wristband that includes food and initial buy-in. Additional buy-ins are available. A $25 ticket includes food only. Cash prizes for first, second and third place.

Jr. Midgets top seed in upcoming playoffs

Carson Jr. Midgets ended their regular season with a shutout against Sparks Wolfpack 30-0. This win gives Carson the top seed in the playoffs.

Carson came out strong defensively led by Shawn Harp, Jaremiah Abbott, Joshua Merriner, Diego Francis, Kevin Rusler, Bradley Moose, Caleb Ball and Michael Gould. Austin Lowe made a crucial tackle stopping Wolfpack from scoring. Johnny Lopez had a kickoff recovery late in the second quarter setting up a score for Carson.

The Carson offense came out strong first half of the game scoring 24 points. Jonathan Ramirez caught a 20-yard pass staying in bounds deep in Wolfpack territory. Josiah Pongasi scored on the wedge drive with Corey Reid making the kick. Pongasi then scored again on a 20-yard pass run with Reid making the kick. After Lopez's kick off recovery Pongasi scored again with Reid making the kick. Carson went into halftime with the score of 24-0.

In the second half, Colby Brown scored on a 60-yard run for a touchdown with Brady O'Keefe making a key block. Nolan Shine had an exceptional game on both sides of the ball, making crucial tackles when needed and also with catches to move Carson down the field. Elijah Fajayan also played well. Austin Stone, Chris Harris, Vic Castro, Bryceton Schilling, Caden Lehman and Noah Tomasco were part of the offensive attack. Carson will receive a bye this week, before hosting the winner of Reno Wolfpack vs. North Lake Tahoe the following week at home.

Pee Wee Senators run past Reno Wolfpack

The Pee Wee Senators won their final regular season game 34-12 over the Reno Wolfpack Saturday improving their record to 5-1.

The Wolfpack scored first to take a 6-0 lead but Carson answered right back with a 66-yard touchdown run by Connor Pradere.

Pradere would add another scoring run later in the game and also threw a 40-yard completion to Nolan Hogan to set up a one-yard score by Johnny Cavilia. Dennis Krueger had another big day scoring two touchdowns and running for nearly 200 yards. Line coach Rod Estrada praised the offensive line of Nick Tibma, Alejandro Escobar, Tyler Christy, Jacob Dominguez, Jared Juby, Nick Andreas and Sevon Mandoki for opening holes for the running backs.

Carson plays the Sparks Wolfpack at 6 p.m. Thursday at Governors Field in the first round of playoffs.

Carson under-11 Panthers finish season undefeated

The Carson Futbol Club Panthers under-11 girls finished the regular season undefeated. On Saturday, the Panthers played their last game against the Nevada Elite Blue a club soccer team from Reno and beat them 2-1. In all they played eight games this season with a total of 39 goals. Eight out of 12 players scored. Defensively the team only allowed four goals.

Players are: Alexa Conrad; Abigail Pradere; Allie Greenman; Hailey Palotas; Sam Berger; Yanitzia Perez; Bella Wakeling; Aleyna Gilson; Ellen Bayliss; Karla Montano; Skylar Swartz; and Hannah Golik. Head coach was Keith Conrad and assistant coaches Carlos Montano and Nate Wakeling.
