(AP) - Campaign finance reports show outgoing Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons raised $241,000 this year for his failed re-election bid, far less than his nearly $410,000 in expenses.

The report filed Tuesday with the secretary of state's office shows the one-term Republican raised $62,000 since just before the June 3 primary when he lost to Brian Sandoval.

Gibbons also reported raising $81,000 since January for his legal defense fund, an account created in 2007 after he faced both an assault allegation and a federal corruption probe. Neither investigation resulted in charges.

The fund reports 2010 expenses through Oct. 21 of roughly $84,000, with $39,000 going for legal fees to the McDonald, Carano, Wilson law firm in Reno.
