RENO - Carson closed out the regular season with a 27-25, 16-25, 24-26, 15-22 and 15-13 win over Galena Thursday night.

Carson finished 18-12 overall and 10-6 in league.

Carson trailed 12-9 in the fifth game, but a key kill by Christa McGahuey and the serving of Jazymn Stokes enabled Carson to win.

"This was probably the best ball control we've had all year," coach Justin Malley said. "Like the Manogue match we struggled with our serve a little bit, but the big difference was that tonight when it got to crunch time we buckled down and served effectively at the end of each set.

Jeanette Van Sickle led Carson with 20 kills, five blocks and 10 digs. Elysse Virden finished with 15 kills and two blocks. Angela Augusta had five kills and 21 digs, while Stokes had 24 digs in her best match of the season. Setter Bailey Valente had 30 assists, three blocks and two kills. Elizabeth Bennet-Doran finished with 20 assists
