The History of Nevada: Messrs. Thompson and West are just getting things in shape for the publication of their History of Nevada. They have just succeeded in getting the services of Col. H. G. Shaw of San Francisco, to write the biographical sketches.
A Pumpkin in Court - Jury on the ground - Part V: The jurors pawed over the ground and found that a vine belonging to Sweeney had twisted in with the Metzler vines. They got into such a dispute that it looked at one time a fight might be counted on. Some language used toward a brother juryman was well calculated to provoke a breach of peace. The jury came back and stood six to six. The case will be tried again and each man vows to take the pumpkin to the Supreme Court.

Hollywood attended the opening of the Will Rogers ranch for the benefit of the American Red Cross. It was the first time since the cowboy actor's death that the public has been permitted in the rambling house.
