New CEO appointed for The Cable Connection
Louis "Lou" Marino was appointed chief executive officer of The Cable Connection of Mound House, the company announced last week.
The firm manufacturers wire rope assemblies and the Ultra-tec cable railing system.
Marino joins The Cable Connection after serving in top management positions with leading firms in the electronics, wire and cable, and auto parts industries.
Mike Kechely, chairman and president of The Cable Connection, said, "With Lou joining our team, we are moving to the next level in the development and expansion of our business."
Marino is assuming responsibility for the domestic and international operations of the business, while Kechely will focus on product and process development and overall strategic planning.
The Cable Connection was established in Carson City in 1992 and provides mechanical cable assemblies to various industrial, commercial, and federal and local government customers throughout the United States.
In 2006 the firm moved to Mound House.
Realtors earn CRS designation
Donna Clark, CRS, of Dickson Realty, and Cyndy Brown, CRS, of Keller Williams recently attended the Council of Residential Specialists Leadership Training in Arizona. Only 4 percent of all Realtors in the United States have the designation.
Young professionals to meet for mixer at homebrew store
The Young Business Professionals will host a mixer at Just Brew It, 1210 N. Carson St., at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 27.
The event will include owners Trevor and Tessa Rotoli show how to make beer and cheese. German bratwursts and homemade beer will be available to sample.
Cost is $5 for members and no-members.
New dry cleaner opening in Carson City Oct. 1
Peerless Dry Cleaners will stage a grand opening Oct. 1 at 4620 S. Carson St.
The business is open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The dry cleaner uses no perc or PCE.
The grand opening will include a drawing for an Apple iPad.
