Earl Robert Holmes, 85, of Carson City died Sept. 28, 2010. He was born Aug. 18, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Peter and Grace (Rafferty) Holmes. Mr. Holmes is survived by daughter Patty Holmes of Carson City and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, four brothers and three sisters.
