Carson Middle off to fast start

Carson Middle School's eigth-grade girls basketball team won two games to remain undefeated in Tah-Neva play.

Carson Middle beat Eagle Valley 32-24 on Sept. 23, and followed that up with a 36-18 win over Pau Wa Lu on Sept. 28.

Carson Middle is 6-0 followed by Eagle Valley at 5-1 and Carson Valley is third at 4-2. STMS, Pau Wa Lu and Alder Creek are all at 1-5.

Maddie Preston scored 18 in the win over Pau Wa Lu, while Alyssa Ridley added eight. Ridley led the way against Eagle Valley with 16 points while Preston added eight.

In seventh-grade play, Carson Middle topped Pau Wa Lu 40-11 and Eagle Valley 22-10.

In the win over Eagle Valley, Serena Miller led the way with 12 points against EV. Miller scored 10 and Lindy Lehman added six in the victory over Pau Wa Lu.

Eagle Valley beat South Tahoe 18-4 and 22-13. Ivy Pembrook led the way in the first game with six points, and she led EV in the second game with eight points.

Carson Valley Middle leads the seventh-grade standings at 6-0, a game ahead of Carson Middle. Alder Creek is 3-3 with Pau Wa Lu and Eagle Valley at 2-4. South Tahoe is last at 0-6.
