Sacramento outslugs Aces 14-7

RENO - Tony Abreu extended his hitting streak to a season-long 13 games Wednesday afternoon, but the Reno Aces lost 14-7 to the Sacramento River Cats at Aces Ballpark.

Abreu finished 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for Reno, keeping his Pacific Coast League leading hitting streak alive. Wily Mo Pena pushed his hitting streak to 12 games with a first-inning single, and Brandon Allen smashed a solo home run to straightaway center field in the eighth, his second of the season.

The Aces and River Cats will tangle once again tonight at Aces Ballpark. LHP Zach Kroenke (2-0, 3.65 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while the River Cats counter with RHP Yadel Marti (0-0, 2.45 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. PT, and the game will be highlighted by the first Coors Light Thirsty Thursdayâ„¢ of the young season.
