June 6, 1939 - August 11, 2011

Lucy Ireta Burnett, wife of William Earl Burnett, passed away peacefully in Kirtland, NM, Thursday, August 11, 2011. She was born June 6, 1939 in Pie Town, NM to James Monroe Hastings and Eda Gertrude Phillips. Ireta is survived by her loving husband, William Earl Burnett and a posterity of 145, daughters Theresa Green-Preston & Tami Green Mosser (Jeff); step-daughters, (although Ireta always said 'there are no steps'): Lurlynn Potter (Dave), Melinda Burnett, Carolynn Zoll (Jason), Tamara Hautala (Matthew), Tera Freestone (Carl), Jona (Kim) Webb, Dana Butler (Jeff), Kara Roberts (Greg), and daughter-in-law, Betsy Burnett; 82 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Ireta is also survived by her brother Roy Hastings. She was preceded in death by her step-son Benjamin LaVon Burnett, her parents and 6 siblings: Manuel, Marie, Ima Jean, Betty, Juanita, Lenora and Jimmy.

Visitation for Lucy was held Monday, August 15th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16th at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Road 6100, Kirtland, NM.
