Burton, Czyz help Nevada to 70-64 win

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Deonte Burton scored 21 points, Olek Czyz had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Nevada held off former Big Sky Conference rival Montana for a 70-64 win Saturday.

Malik Story added 11 points for the Wolf Pack (7-3), and he and Burton each nailed three 3-pointers. Dario Hunt had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Will Cherry led the Grizzlies (5-5) with 17 points. Kareem Jamar and Art Steward scored 12 apiece.

Montana led 30-26 at halftime, but Nevada opened the second half with a 12-0 run to take control. The Grizzlies tied it 50-50 on a Derek Selvig 3-pointer with 7:10 to play and 52-52 a minute later on a Steward dunk.

Burton then converted a four-point play after being fouled on a 3-pointer, and the Wolf Pack led the rest of the way. Burton made five free throws in the final 33 seconds to seal the win.

Elliott makes 24 saves in Blues win

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Brian Elliott made 24 saves for his fourth shutout of the season, and Kevin Shattenkirk scored in the St. Louis Blues' 1-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

The Blues have won seven of the last nine games to improve to 11-2-3 since Ken Hitchcock took over as coach following the firing of Davis Payne. St. Louis has points in 14 of the last 16 games.

St. Jose lost for the fifth time in seven games. The Sharks were 10-2-1 in their previous 13 games in St. Louis.

Navy beats Army

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Make it 10 in a row for Navy over Army.

Kriss Proctor ran for 97 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as the Midshipmen prevailed 27-21 in the 112th Army-Navy game.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were on hand, diplomatically cheering both sides at the Washington Redskins stadium. It was the first time the rivalry game has been played in the vicinity of the nation's capital.

It was also the tightest Army-Navy game in years. Navy had won every game since 2002 by at least dozen points.
