NBA: Rookie leads Celtics to 3,000th win in franchise history

BOSTON (AP) - Rookie Luke Harangody had career highs with 17 points and 11 rebounds for his first NBA double-double, and the Boston Celtics earned the 3,000th victory in franchise history, beating the Toronto Raptors 122-102 on Friday night.

Harangody, a rookie from Notre Dame, had never played more than 16 minutes in a game. He got in early for the short-handed Celtics and had doubled his career high for points (four) by the end of the first quarter. His previous highs for rebounds was also four.

Paul Pierce scored 20 and Ray Allen added 17 for Boston, which tied a season high for points in a half with 67 in the first and never let the Raptors get closer than 12 in the second half.

DeMar DeRozan led Toronto with 20 points.

Heat 101, Bucks 95, OT

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Chris Bosh had 16 points and 12 rebounds, leading the surging Heat in an overtime victory over the Bucks that extended their road winning streak to 12 games.

Miami has won 20 of its last 21 after a 9-8 start, but this was by far one of the grittiest games the Heat have played as they inch closer to the 1971-72 Lakers' record streak of 16 consecutive road wins.

Bosh scored 10 of his 16 in the fourth quarter and overtime, while LeBron James added 26 points and 10 rebounds.

Andrew Bogut had a career-high 27 rebounds, Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 30 points off the bench and Earl Boykins hit a layup over 7-foot-3 Zydrunas Ilgauskas to send the game to overtime.

Knicks 121, Suns 96

PHOENIX (AP) - Amare Stoudemire scored 23 points in his first trip back to Phoenix since leaving for New York, and the Knicks buried the Suns with 17 3-pointers.

Raymond Felton had his first career triple-double with 23 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds as the Knicks handed the Suns their second-worst home loss in 11 years. Phoenix lost by 25 at home to Memphis late last season.

Stoudemire, given a rousing ovation when he was introduced, had 19 by halftime. But it was the Knicks' sharpshooters, looking much like the high-flying Suns of old, who turned the game into a blowout with a 3-point barrage in a 38-point third quarter.

Lakers 101, Hornets 97

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Kobe Bryant had 25 points while moving into ninth place on the NBA's career scoring list, and Pau Gasol had 21 points and 13 rebounds in the Lakers' win over the Hornets.

Lamar Odom had 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Andrew Bynum added 17 points for the two-time defending champions, who have rebounded from a prolonged holiday skid and stories of minor team discord with five wins in six days, including three in the past four days.

Bryant followed up his milestone basket in the third quarter with two key buckets in the final 2 minutes.

David West had 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Hornets, who traveled a long way to open just a two-game road trip.

Warriors 116, Cavaliers 98

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Monta Ellis scored 32 points, David Lee had 22 points and 14 rebounds and the Warriors beat Cleveland, sending the Cavaliers to their ninth straight defeat.

Stephen Curry added 15 points and four assists for Golden State before leaving midway through the third quarter with a bruised left hip after a hard foul by Cleveland's Mo Williams.

Antawn Jamison had 21 points and five rebounds for the Cavaliers, who lost at Oracle Arena for the first time in more than two years. Overall, Cleveland has lost 19 of 20.

Trail Blazers 108, Timberwolves 98

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Wesley Matthews scored 29 of his career-high 36 points in the first half and the Trail Blazers rolled to a victory over the Timberwolves.

LaMarcus Aldridge added 28 points and 10 rebounds for the Blazers, who beat Minnesota for the 14th straight time.

Kevin Love had 30 points and 19 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have lost four of their past five games. Michael Beasley chipped in 17 points, but hobbled through the second half after taking a nasty fall on his right hip.

Matthews hit his first seven shots from the field and was 7 for 8 from 3-point range to lead the Blazers to a 63-43 lead at halftime. His seven 3s were a franchise record for a half.

Magic 110, Rockets 95

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Jason Richardson and Brandon Bass scored 18 points apiece, and the Magic rolled to their season-high eighth straight win, beating the Rockets.

Orlando clung to a three-point advantage at the half, but blew open the game by starting the third quarter on a 19-5 run to build a 74-55 cushion. Bass had seven points during the spurt to help the Magic take a 92-71 lead into the final period.

Bass and Richardson helped negate a 27-point night by Kevin Martin, who was coming off a 45-point performance in a loss to Portland on Wednesday.

Spurs 90, Pacers 87

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Manu Ginobili scored 25 points to help the Spurs beat the Pacers and snap a two-game skid.

Tim Duncan had 15 points and 15 rebounds and Indianapolis native George Hill scored 16 points for the Spurs, who overcame a 15-point deficit to become the first team in the league to win 30 games.

Tyler Hansbrough had career highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds in his first start of the season, and Danny Granger added 15 points for the Pacers, who have lost five of six.

Indiana led 75-60 late in the third quarter, but the Pacers shot 1 for 15 in the fourth. The Pacers had a chance to take the lead in the final seconds, but Roy Hibbert's hook shot against Duncan fell short. 76ers 105, Bulls 99

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Jodie Meeks scored 24 points, Lou Williams had 20, and the 76ers avenged a 45-point loss to Chicago.

Jrue Holiday added 19 for the 76ers, who lost 121-76 on Dec. 21 in Chicago.

The Sixers believe they're a playoff team and have the young nucleus to get there. Meeks and Holiday gave them plenty of reason for hope in a thrilling third quarter where the two guards combined to shoot 7 for 7 for 18 points.

The Sixers hit their first nine shots in the third and 11 overall to turn a four-point hole into a 12-point lead. Wizards 97, Nets 77

WASHINGTON (AP) - Rashard Lewis had 16 points and a season-high 13 rebounds Friday night, and the Wizards raced out to an early 18-point lead before cruising to a victory over the Nets.

The Wizards built a 21-3 lead in the first eight minutes and faced little resistance from the cold-shooting Nets the rest of the way in snapping a three-game skid. Lewis hit all three of his 3-pointers in the first quarter to spark the Wizards.

Devin Harris and Sasha Vujacic combined to shoot 2 for 21 as the Nets hit on just 35 percent from the floor in dropping their fifth straight road game.

Brook Lopez and Jordan Farmer each had 14 to lead New Jersey.

Grizzlies 110, Jazz 99

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Rudy Gay scored 28 points, Zach Randolph added 26 points and 11 rebounds and the Grizzlies won their third straight game, topping the Jazz.

O.J. Mayo had 13 points for Memphis and Marc Gasol contributed 12 points.

Paul Millsap, who missed Utah's 110-87 loss to Atlanta on Wednesday because of a sore hip, led the Jazz with 20 points. Deron Williams had 19 points and six assists, but was 4 of 13 from the field. Al Jefferson had 16 points and 13 rebounds for Utah. Earl Watson scored 12 points, hitting all five of his shots.

The Jazz, who lost their second straight, committed a season-high 23 turnovers, five of them by Williams.
