Couple returns to auto paint business

There's a new automotive paint shop in south Carson City.

Dan and Debra Timmons opened All Auto Paints, 3170 S. Carson St., on Dec. 13.

"Basically we sell automotive paints, we make touch up bottles, we make spray cans, we sell all of the products to do it yourself," Dan Timmons said. "We do mix the colors here."

The Timmonses used to run T&H Auto Paints, a business they owned for 27 years until selling it three years ago.

Dan Timmons said he and his wife wanted to get back into the business, which is why they opened their new shop.

"This is all we've ever done," he said.

Springtime for

commercial real estate?

The local commercial real estate market may be thawing, at least for a couple of Carson City real estate agents.

Andie Wilson and Brad Bonkowski recently filled the last unit in the Eagle Valley Commerce Center, 3655 Arrowhead Dr.

The 87,000-square-foot building now has seven tenants occupying 14 units.

"The thaw is coming," Wilson said. "The commercial market has been frozen since Sept. 2008, multi-family properties are starting to sell."

Wilson said the market may have finally hit the floor, however, the local office space market continues to be weak with a vacancy rate of about 27 percent.

She added the retail space is also looking up given the activity along south Carson Street.

"There are very promising signs all the way around," Wilson said.

Brugo's Pizza under new management

Carson City's Brugo's Pizza Company, 3228 N. Carson St., has a new owner: Kristi Pattison.

The original owners, Troy and Christina McDonald, opened the north Carson City eatery in March 2008 and opened a Reno location in March 2010. Pattison said they sold the Carson City location to focus on their Reno business.

Pattison said she has worked at the restaurant for a year and is a longtime friend of the McDonalds.

"It will be a nice, smooth change," Pattison said, adding the menu will stay the same.

Periodontal practice on the move

Drs. Michael Almaraz and John Kaminski have moved their periodontal and dental practice to 1675 Vista Lane.

Past to Present 2nd Hand Store is located at 2520 Empire Ranch Road.
