A bid to move the State Prison to Reno was taken up seriously and after a long debate, its passage was recommended. The bill provides $80,000 be appropriated.

Fifty guests sat down to the wedding dinner given by Hon. Herman Springmeyer in honor of the marriage of his eldest daughter Maggie. The couple were united in marriage by Rev. G. R. Davis. The bride wore a dress of violet silk, with orange blossoms.

Dawn Gibbons, wife of former Assemblyman Jim Gibbons, was sworn in after the Washoe County Commission unanimously approved her as his replacement. Jim Gibbons resigned his legislative post to serve with the Nevada Air National Guard in the Middle East.
