The Picnic of the Pacific Coast Pioneers was a failure in point of numbers and had it not been for the races, the affair would have left promoters out of pocket. It was equally light in pocket as with the general hard times on the Comstock.

100 YEARS AGO

Upon receiving notice that the Western Pacific would discontinue handling mail for Jungo, Sulphur and Gerlach June 1, Postmaster Rogers took up the matter with Senator Nixon and the post office department at Washington. Temporarily the mail will be moved by Globe express at a considerable expense.

At the final assembly of Carson City high school, Coach George A. McElroy was presented with a beautiful Hamilton wrist watch by Eddie marriage on behalf of the high school students.
