MINDEN - Carson High's boys and girls track teams finished sixth at Friday night's Big George Invitational at Douglas High School.
Reno won the boys meet with 133.5 points followed by McQueen (107.5), Fallon (103), Douglas (68), Spanish Springs (63) and Carson (33). McQueen won the girls' event with 128.28 followed by Reno (122.5), Douglas (106.28), Spanish Springs (79), Fallon (48) and Carson (46.14).
Taylor Bradshaw ran well for the Carson boys, placing second in the 400 (51.88) and fifth in the 200 (24.58). He also ran the lead leg on the Senators' second-place 800 relay team (1:32.04). Trey Jensen, Gabe Pongasi and Clinton Page also were on that team. Eric Garcia tied for fifth in the pole vault. clearing 13 feet. Pongasi placed second in the triple jump at 41-4 1/2. The time turned in for the 800 relay is second in Northern Nevada behind McQueen.
Josilyn Daggs won the hurdles in 16.31 and was fifth in the 100 at 13.49 after posting the fastest qualifying time. She was fourth-fastest in the hurdle prelims.
"We talked to Josilyn about stepping up and beating the two girls that were ranked ahead of her," coach Robert Maw said. "She ran a good race."
Maddie Saarem vaulted 10 feet to place third and Kenzie Tillitt was sixth in the long jump at 14-8 1/2.
Douglas' Justin Dry won the discus with a toss of 131-10, while Nick Maestretti won the pole vault at 14-6. Justin Seyfried was second in the pole vault at 14 feet and Colt Silva tied for fifth at 13 feet. Clayton Limacher won the 200 in 23.96. Andrew Cobourn was second in the 1,600 (4:41.75) and sixth in the 800 (2:06.78). Douglas was fourth in the 400 relay.
The Tigers' Amanda Brazeau won the pole vault at 11-7, while Holly Downer won the long jump (15-9). Bri Burnside was fourth in the shot (31-0 3/4) and second in the discus (101-6). Matti Seamans (2:28.07) and Aspen Abbott (2:29.87) were second and fourth, respectively in the 800, while Megan Filbin was second in the 300 hurdles (50.77).
Sierra Lutheran's John McRae was fifth in the 1600 (4:52.17), Nick DePaoli was fifth in the 100 (11.90) and Conner Henderson was fifth in the 3,200.
Becky Grabow led the Sierra Lutheran girls with a second-place finish in the 1600 (5:37.25) and teammate Erin Henry was fourth in the 3200 (12:32.07). Ali Palacios was second in the 100 hurdles (16.68).
ARIAS WINS TWICE
AT YERINGTON
YERINGTON - Kathie Arias won the shot and discus to lead Dayton to a third-place finish at the Yerington Relays on Saturday.
The Dust Devils finished with 79 points. Fallon won the meet with 146.
Arias threw 39-11 in the shot and 128-5 in the discus. Katrina Breithaupt won the 1600 in 5:43 which tied her PR and tied the school record. Breithaupt took third in the 800 with a personal best of 2:36. Devon Cates was third in the 100 hurdles, while Alyssa Cisneros was fourth in the long jump at 14-3.
Dayton was second in the 3,200 relay, fourth in the 1,600 relay and fifth in the 400 relay.
On the boys' side, Tylor Bard won the high jump with a PR of 6-2. Bard took third in the long jump with a mark of 18.11. Manuel Castaneda won the shot (44-8) and took fourth in the discus (117-11). John Serrano finished third in the shot put (41-8) and was third in the discus at 121 feet. Kage Walker placed third in the high jump at6-feet while Cameron McGifford was second in the 300 hurdles (42.82) and fourth in the 110 high hurdles (17.61).

RENO SWEEPS CARSON
Reno High swept Carson in a High Desert League dual meet at the Carson Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Reno won the boys meet 167-114 and the girls meet 145-112.
Abi Pittman won the 200 free (2:11.98) for Carson and took second in the 500 free (5:42.30). Sophie Holmes was second in the 100 back (1:10.56) and the 50 free (26.69). Chloe Hearn was second in the 100 breast (1:26.35) and fourth in the 50 free (29.54). Erin Chang was third in the 100 fly (1:15.33) and third in the 50 free (28.02).
Tim Grunert won the 200 IM (2:10.97) and took second in the 100 breast (1:02.66). Zach White won the 100 free in 54.28 and took third in the 200 IM (2:25.56).
BASEBALL
DAYTON ROLLS TO WIN
RENO - Conner Oliver struck out six and didn't allow an earned run in the Dust Devils' easy 16-2 non-league win over Hug on Saturday.
Logan Garling went 3-for-4 to lead the offense, while Houston Berntson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Tim Ply slugged a HR for the winners.
Dayton hosts Fernley on Tuesday, needing just a split in the doubleheader to advance to the playoffs.

DOUGLAS TIPS CHS
MINDEN - Douglas outlasted Carson 6-5 Saturday despite a three-hit effort by Dominic Norton.
Chase Blueberg and Rafe King collected two hits apiece, while Jace Zampirro, Danny Okimura, Logan Krupp, Nevin Elliott and Jordan Luhrs all added a hit apiece.
JV SOFTBALL
CARSON SWEEPS TIGERS
Carson topped Douglas 10-4 and 13-3 in a Saturday doubleheader at Carson on Saturday.
Maddy Von Duering went the distance in the first game. Skylar Jones and Sydney Knorzer both went 3-for-4, while Becka Breuer, Aubrey Northrup and Von Duering all had two hits.
In the second game, Breuer and Northrup each went 3-for-3. Malia Tiffer, Jones and Kandis Tuttle all had two hits. Erica Watson picked up the pitching win.
