Carson High School's performing arts students are winding up their year with rehearsals for the beginning students to do a recital for their parents on May 22 at the Community Center.
A fun mash-up of Greek history in "The Greek Olympiaganza" teaches the basic myths while having some fun in the process.
Advanced students are busy at creating their final year end original works, exploring the idea of communication in our modern world.
Scheduled for May 30 and June 1 at the BAC Black Box, it will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is a $5 donation.

Carson High School Cheer tryouts will be May 19-21. Completed sports packets are due in the Athletic Office by 2 p.m. May 16.
A sports parent meeting will be 6:30 p.m. May 19 in the Morse Burley Gymnasium.

The Musical Theater classes will host a final performance at 7 p.m. May 24. The Choir Classes will perform the following evening at the same time.
Both will take place at the Community Center and the cost is $5 for each night. Hope to see you there.

This week's senior in the spotlight is Shannon Ferguson. She has a grade-point average of 3.75.
Her senior courses include government, honors American literature, people P.E. and attendance office aide.
Shannon's plans include attending UNR to major in criminal justice and marketing.
She played soccer during her freshman year, and participates in her church youth groups and her community service involvement. We are proud of Shannon and wish her best of luck.

National Teacher Appreciation Week is this week. We have several events planned to honor all of the great teachers here at CHS.
