The Carson Middle School seventh-grade boys' basketball team has ripped off four straight wins to open the season.

Carson Middle beat Pau-Wa-Lu 49-27, Winnemucca 42-11, Fallon 50-26 and Fernley 56-21.

In the win over Pau-Wa-Lu, Jace Keema scored 20 and Brandon Gagnon added 12 with Tez Allen and Greg Wallace adding three each. Against Winnemucca, Wallace scored 15 and Allen chipped in with 11. Wallace led the way against Fallon with 14, while Taylor Saarem added 13 and Keema 10. Wallace tallied 12 against Fernley and Saarem added 11 and Keema 10.


Carson Midgets blank

Douglas 28-0

The Carson Pop Warner Midgets opned the playoffs with a 28-0 win over Douglas last Saturday.

The win moved Carson into the Snow Bowl Saturday at the Golden Eagle Complex against the Reno Wolf Pack. Kick-off has been tentatively set for 3 p.m.

Carson had more than 300 yards of total offense. Jared Akers, Tristian Wadsworth, Carlos Pacheco, Salvador Rodriguez, Kevin Rusler, Austin Lowe, Tyler White, Chris Rose, Collin Geralds and Bradley Moose opened up the holes up front.

Brady O'Keefe, Josiah Pongasi, Vic Castro Jr., Asa Carter and Elijah Fayan were the standouts at the skill positions.

The Carson squad has allowed just 39 points all season.


Table tennis club

moves to BAC

The Carson City Table Tennis Club, which was started on Oct. 1, is open for play Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Brewery Arts Center ballroom from 6 to 9 p.m.

If you want to join, it's $25 a month or $5 per day.

U-12 Pumas go

undefeated

The Carson Futbol Club-Pumas earned another championship with a 7-0 league record.

Members of the team are Isael Lopez, Victor Gomez, Christian Martinez, Ismael Flores, Javier Vega, Ernesto Lamas, Noah Giron, Brandon Estrada, Hayden Story, Adrian Torres, Jesse Chavez, Julio Loera and Efren Ramirez.

The team is coached by Frank Martinez and Douglas Flores.

Since the Pumas went competitive in 2009, they have a record of 67-12-5. The group is looking for local sponsorships to help defray the cost of league and tournament fees.

Tryout dates for

Carson youth hoops

The youth basketball workouts/evaluations start on Nov. 12 at various area schools.

On Nov. 12, the third and fourth-grade boys will be at 8 and 109 a.m., respectively, at the Community Center Gym. The third and fourth-grade girls will meet at noon at the Community Center.

On Nov. 14, the fifth-grade boys will meet at Carson Middle School at 6 p.m. On Nov. 15, the fifth and sixth-grade girls meet at Eagle Valley Middle School at 6 p.m. The seventh and eighth-grade girls meet Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at Carson Middle School and the seventh and eighth-grade boys meet at 6 p.m. at Carson Middle School on Nov. 18.

Hala wins top

flight at CVGC

Ron Hala shot a net 69 to win the A flight at the final Carson Valley Men's Club tournament of the year on Nov. 6.

Dennis Patterson was second with a 70 and there was a four-way tie for third at 72. John Guidicatti won the B flight with a net 63, five strokes better than Steve Garrett and six shots better than Charles Poe,

Larry Lockwood won the C flight with a 68, two shots better than Anthony Moore and three better than Gerry Bing.

The Dayton Youth Football League's Renegade Division cheerleaders won a Northern Nevada Sierra Youth Football League competition over the weekend.

Members of the team are: Ainslee Brown, Alyssa Medeiros,Anica Castenada, Aryanna Ortega, Ashli-Nicole White, Ashlynn Durbin,Camille Kordonowy, Cielo Wilson, Ellie Vaughn, Hailey Evans , Jayden Madrano, Madison Crowder, Mckenna Turner, Shaye Thompson, Sophie Kapci, Taylor Kinney, Tyana Ellingworth and Veta Vandenburg.
