Carson Middle improves to 11-0

Carson Middle School's seventh-grade boys basketball won five more games to improve to 11-0 for the season.

The latest five wins:

Carson 50, Alder Creek 12: Jayden DeJoseph scored 10 and Jace Keema added eight for Carson.

Carson 49, Eagle Valley 19: Keema tallied nine, while Greg Wallace added seven.

Carson 40, Winnemucca 16: Keema scored 13, while DeJoseph and Taylor Saarem tallied six.

Carson 46, Lovelock 15: Keema (11), DeJoseph (10) and Connor Larkin (10) all reached double figures in the easy win.

Carson 55, Pau-Wa-Lu 20: Keema scored 10, Brandon Gagnon eight and DeJoseph contributed seven in the victory.


Olympian heads volleyball clinic

The Silver State Volleyball Club will host a clinic featuring two-time gold medalist Kerri Walsh and five-time AVP champion Casey Jennings Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.

Players from 11 to 18 are welcome. The cost is $125. There is a 60-athlete minimum.

Silver State gymnasts fare well in Reno

The Silver State Gymnastics Academy concluded the fall season with an outstanding performance at the Fall Festival of Starz.

Rosalia Daulerio, competing in Level 4 in the 6-7 age group, was first on bar, beam and vault and second on floor en route to winning the all-around title. Elle Liebendorfer won floor and was second all-around in the Levl 4 6-7 group.

Isabella Daulerio was second on vault, first on bars and third on floor to win the all-around for Level 4 9-11 year-olds. Teammate Brenna Mitchell was third on vault, bars and beam and second on floor en route to second-place all-around. Brianna Wiles was third in all-around after finishing first on vault and floor. Alycia Hellwinkel finished third all-around after placing third on vault and bars and second on beam.

Madison Adams led Level 3 gymnasts. She won vault, beam, bars and floor en route to the all-around title in the 8-9 division. In the 6-7 division, Emily Lewis won all four individual events en route to the all-around crown. Elianna King was right behind her teammate with second-place finishes in all four events. Riley Glynn was third on vault, bars and beam en route to third-place all-around.

In Level 5, Tia Leonard was third on bars and second on floor to take fourth place all-around in the 11-14 division.


Pop Warner teams slate fundraiser

The Carson Midgets will be fund-raising with the Douglas Junior Midgets today from 1 to 6 p.m. in front of Schatts Bakery to raise money for their trip to Santa Clara for the regional playoffs.

Both teams won games in Sparks earlier this month to qualify for regional competition. If the local teams win, they will qualify to play in the national event in Florida.

Signups for local wrestling club

The Carson Bulldogs are holding signup sessions Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. at 200 W. Bath St.

The club is open to wrestlers from 5 to 18 years of age. A copy of a birth certificate is needed for all new wrestlers.

The cost to register is $50, and wrestlers will also have to buy a USA Wrestling card which costs $51.

Golf special at CVGC

The Carson Valley Golf Club has a $30 special, including cart, at the present time. The course will be open Thanksgiving Day until 2 p.m.
