Methodist church hosts living nativity

Carson City First United Methodist Church will present its 11th annual nativity on Dec. 10-11 from 6:30-8 p.m.

The church is located at the intersection of Musser and Division streets and the through begins at the corner of King and Division streets.

Visitors also are encouraged to walk the "Path to Bethlehem," which is lighted by more than 800 luminaries. There is no charge to enjoy this Christmas pageant, which represents the church members' Christmas gift to Northern Nevada.

The living nativity started 11 years ago and occupies an entire city block and comprises 10 scenes depicting the story of Jesus' birth. The scenes are enacted with the help of more than 200 church members and also include living animals. Christmas music is broadcast during the event.

More than 20,000 people have experienced the living nativity since its inception.Many have cried as they left this touchin-re-enactment.
