The brother of the Carson City man responsible for the a mass shooting at the IHOP last month, was jailed early Sunday morning on domestic battery charges in South Lake Tahoe.

According to South Lake Tahoe Police Sgt. Shannon Laney, officers were called out at 2 a.m. to the 2500 block of Elwood Avenue in South Lake Tahoe on a report of a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman with bruising and swelling on her left eye and blood on her shirt.

The victim reported that her live in boyfriend, Sencion Gonzalez, 38, battered her during a verbal argument, according to Laney.  Sencion Gonzalez reportedly fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Laney said the victim also reported being in fear from further physical violence from Gonzalez due to him having a "deteriorating mental state."

Laney said Gonzalez has a .45 cal semi-auto pistol registered to him that is outstanding.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gonzalez and at 9:30 a.m., South Lake Tahoe Police Officers located him hiding in the bathroom at Mont Blue Casino in Stateline.

With the assistance of Douglas County Sheriff's deputies, Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident.  The firearm was not located.

Sencion Gonzales is listed along with his brother Eduardo Sencion, 32,  on partnership paperwork for the family-owned Mi Pueblo Market in South Lake Tahoe. The paperwork lists Sencion Gonzales' address as being in the 2500 block of Elwood Avenue in South Lake Tahoe.

On Sept. 6, Eduardo Sencion walked into the Carson City IHOP and opened fire, shooting some 60 rounds from a fully-automatic weapon. Four people were killed and seven injured before Eduardo Sencion shot himself in the head in the parking lot.

Investigators said Eduardo Sencion was diagnosed as schizophrenic when he was 18.

Laney said Sencion Gonzales' girlfriend reported he'd become increasingly upset since his brother's death.
