High Sierra Swing Dance Club invites the public to its fifth annual Swing Into Spring dinner-dance gala on April 28 at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St.

The semi-formal/formal-attire evening begins with no-host cocktails at 6 p.m. The "Local Celebrities Who Think They Can Dance" contest starts at 6:30 p.m., with the audience voting for the winners. Celebrity dancers this year include Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell and Sheriff Ken Furlong.

A sit-down dinner is served at 7 p.m., followed by dancing to a variety of DJ music. Dust off your evening gowns and neckties for an evening of great food and even better dancing. Raffle prizes - services and goods from local merchants and individuals - will be awarded throughout the evening.

The cost is $32. To reserve a ticket, go to www.highsierrasdc.org or call 530-544-8745, 775-225-6437 or 775-629-9369; no tickets will be sold at the door. For information about the High Sierra Swing Dance Club, call 775-629-9369 or go to www.highsierrasdc.org.
