Jeffrey L. Hancock, a 4th generation Nevadan, was born in Reno, NV on July 21, 1961 and died February 7, 2012. He was the younger of two sons born to Donna K. Hancock and William E. (Bill) Hancock.
Jeff grew up in Carson City and graduated from Carson High School in 1979 where he excelled in baseball and was the starting third baseman for Carson High's 1979 State champions. After graduating from Carson High, he graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice. He worked in Gold Beach, OR as a probation officer and later as a vocational rehab counselor for the State of Oregon in Gold Beach. They have one daughter, Heidi Jean Hancock.
Jeff enjoyed being with his family, his many friends and fishing and hunting.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Stacey; beloved daughter, Heidi; brother-in-law, Jeff Ferguson of Gold Beach, OR; his parents, Donna and Bill Hancock of Carson City; and his brother, Jay Hancock and his family, Brenda, Greer and Alexander of Dallas, TX. Many special times were spent with his Aunt Deanna and Uncle Jim during holidays when all the families were together and much laughter was the rule of the house. Although his Aunt Toni, cousins Layne and Todd, lived in other states, Jeff kept in touch with them through his mother and aunt.
Jeff will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted son, husband, father and brother.
Services and internment will be in Gold Beach, Oregon.
