Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• A 19-year-old Carson City resident was arrested at 10:51 a.m. Friday on felony warrants for failure to appear and violating probation conditions. Deputies had to threaten to break down the door of his Country Village Drive residence before he agreed to open the door. He was ordered held without bail.

• A 44-year-old Carson man was arrested at 11:53 a.m. Friday on charges of using a counterfeit $100 bill to try purchase items from a north Carson Street store. He was charged with fraud and bail set at $7,500.

• A 23-year-old Carson City woman was taken into custody on two warrants charging failure to appear at 4:23 p.m. Friday after a traffic stop at Highway 50 and State. Bail was set at $192.

• A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested during a walk-through by deputies at Cactus Jack's at 9:35 p.m. Friday. Deputies questioned her because she looked too young. A background check revealed she was violating conditions of her probation by drinking alcohol. She was also charged with obstruction for lying to the deputy. Total bail was set at $3,300.

• A 37-year-old Carson City woman was charged with her second DUI after a 12:42 a.m. Saturday traffic stop in the 200 block of West Sixth. She was also charged with driving without a valid license. Total bail was set at $2,600.

• A 19-year-old and a 20-year-old were charged as minors consuming alcohol after deputies conducted a walk-through at Mo and Sluggo's bar early Saturday. The 2:50 a.m. arrests also charged the two women with loitering in a bar. One of the two was also charged with obstruction for giving the deputy her older sister's driver's license before admitting she was under age.

• A 20-year-old Carson man was charged with marijuana possession and a parole violation at 9 p.m. Saturday after a traffic stop at Fairview Drive and South Carson Street. Total bail was set at $3,600.

• A 33-year-old Modesto man led deputies on a high-speed chase from Airport Road at Highway 50 down Fairview and then Fifth Street before crashing his truck into a berm. Deputies said the chase began after Randy Vanbuskirk nearly hit a deputy who was conducting another traffic stop at 11:46 p.m. According to the report, he was clocked at speeds as high as 80 mph, driving in the wrong lane and forcing oncoming traffic off the roadways before he turned onto a dirt road, only to discover it was blocked with boulders and the dirt berm. He was charged with reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and suspended registration as well as possession of marijuana. Total bail was $2,050.

• A 21-year-old Gardnerville man was charged with first-offense DUI after a 12:23 a.m. Sunday traffic stop at Fifth Street and Harbin Avenue. He also was charged with failing to maintain his lane. Bail was set at $1,050.

• An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 1:09 a.m. Sunday after Walmart security accused him of attempting to steal a bottle of whiskey. He fled out the back of the store and had to be caught by deputies. He faces charges of petty larceny, being a minor using alcohol, resisting arrest with violence and obstructing an officer. Total bail is set at $2,050.

• A 43-year-old Carson man was charged with destruction of property, obstructing and resisting arrest after deputies were called to a domestic disturbance on B Street at 5:03 a.m. Sunday. He is accused of breaking pictures and other property in his mother's residence and fighting with deputies. Bail was set at $800.

• A 46-year-old transient was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Sunday after deputies saw him walking up Carson Street with a beer in one hand. He was held on charges as a drunk pedestrian, jaywalking and littering. Bail is $550.

• Deputies were called to a residence on North Edmonds at 5:26 p.m. Sunday after a report that a 33-year-old Carson City man was threatening four young women with a large knife. The report charges he was banging on their door and swearing. He then started cussing at the deputy. The young women told deputies he had threatened to kill them. He faces charges of harassment, disorderly conduct, assault and obstructing and resisting. His bail is $1,200.

• A 5:15 p.m. Monday call over a child custody dispute ended in the arrest of a 39-year-old Carson man. When asked about the large mark on her nose, the woman said he earlier had pinned her down and bit her nose.
