Obituary: Lowell Robert "Bob" Gibson

Lowell Robert 'Bob' Gibson, 78, a 53 year resident of Carson City, died peacefully at home on January 3, 2012. He was born March 22, 1933 in Reno, Nevada, to Herbert and Matilda Gibson.

Bob graduated from Reno High School, in 1951. He served in the Korean War as a Gunners Mate for the U.S. Navy. He retired from the State of Nevada after 30 years of service as a Printing Pressman.

Bob enjoyed trapshooting, hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the Capital City Gun Club and was inducted into the Nevada Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 2007. He was a Level-1 shooting instructor and donated his vast shooting instruction knowledge to the 4-H Carson City Hot Shots.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gordon G. Gibson, his sister Carol Gueswell and his beloved wife of 49 years, Carolyn Ann Gibson.

He is survived by his son, Raymond Wayne Gibson and daughter, Karen Gibson Parker, both from Carson City, and sister Sharon Anderson of Portland, Oregon.

A celebration of life will be held at the Capital City Gun Club, 3590 Arrowhead Drive, Saturday, January 28, 2012, 1pm-3pm. A pot luck dinner will be served.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation be made to Circle of Life Hospice.
