Carson league seeking players 13 to 18

Carson City Little League has replaced Babe Ruth in offering playing opportunities for youths between the ages of 13 and 18.

The dates for signups for the Carson City junior/senior/ big league program are:

• March 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the indoor facility at Governors Field.

• March 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. during tryouts on Field 1.

The cost is $70, and interested players must bring a birth certificate and a utility bill to show proof of residency.

All players are welcome regardless of experience.

WNC coach giving pitching lessons

Jeremy Beard, the current Western Nevada College pitching coach, is giving pitching lessons for kids between the ages of 8 and 18.

Register for Junior Golf in Carson City

The First Tee of Northern Nevada is offering junior golf programs at Eagle Valley and Silver Oak golf courses in Carson City.

Class sessions begin March 25 at Silver Oak, and April 2 and 3 at Eagle Valley. New classes are offered each month through September. Cost is $80 per session; each session includes 6-8 lessons. Financial assistance is available, easy to apply for, and completely confidential. Golf equipment is also provided for participants who do not have their own clubs.

Registration can be completed online at www.tftnn.org. Class schedule and registration forms may also be downloaded from the website or may be requested by calling 851-2332.
