Obituary: Stephen L. Wright

Stephen L. Wright, age 55, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at his home in Carson City, Nevada. He was born on October 11, 1956, at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, to parents U.S. Air Force Lt. Charles and Marilyn Wright. Stephen attended high school in Woodbridge, Virginia, and Wooster High School in Reno before graduating from Carson High in 1973. He was an excellent athlete. His sports of choice were wrestling and long distance running. He also attended the University of Nevada, Reno. Stephen was a Senior Market Conduct Examiner and the Director of Special Projects for the Huff Group, Kansas City, Missouri. Other important positions held by Stephen during his professional career included Chief Insurance Examiner, State of Nevada Division of Insurance, Estate Trust Manager for the California Department of Insurance, and Program Manager for the FDIC. He was committed to fair competition in the private sector and consumer protection. Stephen's love and concern for his country knew no bounds. His innate loyalty extended to his friends. He never gave up on one. We shall all miss his beautiful and noble thoughts, as well as his wide and warm heart. Stephen cherished his children Jacqueline and Alex. He taught them how to deep-sea fish, his favorite pastime. Stephen found the treasure of his life when he met Stephanie in 2008. They married in 2011 whereupon Stephen commenced the happiest days of his life. In addition to his wife and children, surviving Stephen are his mother, Marilyn Roanhaus; his father and stepmother, Charles and Barbara Wright; his sister, Jeannette Wright; brothers, Phil and Richard Wright, along with several loving nephews and nieces.

There will be a celebration of Stephen Wright's life on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. Friends and colleagues of Stephen Wright are encouraged to attend.
