Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Oct. 4. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:• Genghix, 1480 N. Carson St., scored 93 points. Various food items were found stored in the walk-in refrigerator without labels showing the common name and date. Frozen fish was being thawed on a table top in kitchen, which does not minimize microbial growth. Unclean knives were found on the magnetic rack for later use. Food contact surfaces of the ice machine were not clean. Non-food contact surfaces of the fans in the walk-in cooler were not clean and contained accumulated debris. This debris could come loose and contaminate food.• Gold Dust West Ole Ole Mexican Restaurant, 2171 E. Highway 50, scored 97 points. Observed a mostly covered, large and rectangular container of green chili in walk-in with an internal temperature of 128 degrees, corrected on site. Ice scoop is not stored properly.• Gold Dust West Ole Ole Bar, 2171 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.• Gold Dust West Coffee Shop, 2171 E. Highway 50, scored 98 points. Found pan of food stored on uncovered ham in reach-in on grill line. Found tong handle touching ready-top-eat lettuce. Cut tomatoes on grill line are at 50-60 degrees. • Los Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant, 2000 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.• Silver Oak Golf Club Main Bar, 1251 Country Club Drive, scored 96 points. Food contact surfaces of the speed gun holster contained debris. Some food contact surfaces on the inside of the ice machine were not clean. The edge of the ice machine plastic drop shield contained an accumulation of debris.• Silver Oak Golf Club Restaurant, 1251 Country Club Drive, scored 98 points. Frozen meat was being thawed in a manner that does not minimize microbial growth. Specifically, ground beef was found on the shelf above the stove. Corrected on site.• Silver Oak Golf Club Banquet Room, 1251 Country Club Drive, scored 98 points. Some food contact surfaces on the inside of the ice machine were not clean. The edge of the ice machine plastic drop shield contained an accumulation of debris.
