High Sierra Swing Dance Club’s sixth annual anniversary Spring Ball dinner-dance is set for April 27 at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St.
The semi-formal/formal-attire evening begins with no-host cocktails at 6 p.m. The “Local Celebrities Who Think They Can Dance” contest starts at 6:30 p.m., with the audience voting for the winners. Celebrity dancers are Jeff Pace, owner of Artsy Fartsy art gallery; Joy Evans, Carson City Convention and Visitors Center events planner; Lisa Schuette, Carson Middle School health teacher and founder of the Carson Animal Services Initiative; Tonya Champa, Nevada Appeal advertising account manager; and Jim Shirk, Carson City supervisor, competing against his wife, Michelle.
A buffet dinner will be served at 7 p.m., with dancing to a variety of DJ music throughout the evening. Raffle prizes of services and goods from local merchants and individuals will be awarded throughout the evening.
