The fight card for the sixth annual “Fallon Fights — Rural Rumble” was announced by Let’s Get It On Promotions on Wednesday.

The event, organized by the city of Fallon and Let’s Get It On Promotions is Aug. 24 at the Churchill County Fairgrounds. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the first bout is slated for 7 p.m.

Billed as “Nevada vs. The World,” the Rural Rumble features professional boxing and amateur mixed-martial arts.

Undefeated heavyweight prospect Ytalo Perea (4-0, 3 knockouts) is scheduled to fight his first six-rounder. Hailing from Ecuador, Perea was a 2012 Olympian for his native country. He is now considered to be one of the top heavyweight prospects in the world.

Perea is coming off of an exciting one-punch, first-round knockout over John Orr in New York City recently. Perea will be tested against the tough and talented Avery Gibson (2-2-2, 1 KO) of Southern California. Although Perea is quickly becoming known for his early knockouts, Gibson has never been knocked down in his career.

Reno’s rising junior flyweight star, Oscar Vasquez (4-1), returns to Fallon for the third straight year. Vasquez is coming off of a dominating performance over Don Jose in Sacramento in April.

Oscar will be facing a tough challenge in Alejandro Solorio (4-7, 3 KOs) of Los Angeles. Despite his record, Solorio is one of the most feared flyweights in boxing.

He has knockout power, and has never been stopped in his seven losses — many of which were very controversial split decisions. The bout is scheduled for six rounds.

Carson City boxer, Justin Benitez, will be making his professional debut at this year’s Rural Rumble. He will be facing James Jones (0-1) from Las Vegas.

Jones is a professional MMA fighter transitioning to boxing. The welterweight fight is slated for four rounds.

As per the world of boxing, the other pro bouts are currently being finalized and the current fights may change.

Nevertheless, the local amateur mixed-martial arts hopefuls litter the MMA card. The bouts are as follows: middleweights — Casey Diaz (Fallon) vs. Time Nunes (Fallon); bantamweights — Dillon Baker (Fallon) vs. Kennymo Bryson (Sacramento); light-heavyweights — Robert Smith (Fallon) vs. Carlos Sanchez (Sparks); lightweights — Wes Fletcher (Fallon) vs. Chris Nolasco (Sacramento); middleweights — Cody Downs (Fallon) vs. Dillon Mackay (Gardnerville).

All MMA bouts are scheduled for three rounds.

The fight card subject to change, but tickets are available at the Fallon Convention Center.
