The fall sports season kicks off and athlete must complete several steps before they are allowed to official participate in school-sanctioned practices.
A registration packet must be completed and turned into CCHS Athletic Director Brad Daum from Tuesday through Thursday between 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. each day. There is a required $80 athletic registration fee, which includes a $15 sport registration fee, CCHS student body card and a $50 district participation fee.
Incoming freshman, returning juniors and new students must have a completed physical examination to participate — a requirement by the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association.
Returning sophomores and seniors must complete the packet except NIAA forms B and D, although sophomores and seniors are urged to take a physical.
Athletes will not be allowed to tryout or practice until the entire packet is completed and collected by the CCHS administration. Athletes cannot turn in packets the morning prior to the first practice or to a coach on the first day of practice.
In addition, athletes must register in person during the established timeline or a $20 late fee will be assessed for registration after Aug. 15. All required forms must be completed and returning athletes must update and return new packets.
All forms must be signed and dated by the student and parent in the required areas. Physicals must be current and will not be accepted from the previous year. Physicals from the Churchill County Middle School or a Fallon Youth League are not acceptable.
All athletes must have insurance coverage and provide proof and supply insurance information on he forms in the packet. Students who do not have insurance may purchase it from the school district.
