The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada’s annual Kids Auction and Luau is set for Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Pony Express Pavilion at Mills Park. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs.
This year’s event will honor Marv Teixeira, former Carson City mayor, for his dedication to the community’s young people and commitment to the club. The event will feature an all-you-can-eat barbecue dinner, complete with a whole roasted pig, cocktails, raffle, live and silent auction, and entertainment by club kids.
“This event is the premier fundraising event in Carson City and is the only special event that the Club puts on,” said Susie Messina, board member. “The proceeds contribute about 16 percent to the club’s overall operating budget, which equals about 500 kids who are able to benefit from our programs. This event is critical to help us keep our fees low so kids have an opportunity to succeed in Carson City.”
Individual tickets cost $100 per person. Tables of 10 cost $1,000.
