RENO — Reno police say ten men were cited for soliciting prostitutes during a sting operation this week.
Authorities say the men ranged in age from 19 to 70. They face a $500 fine and are required to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases.
Police say they sent two undercover female officers to walk the streets of Reno Tuesday night.
Officials say the ten suspects offered them money in exchange for sex during the 5 ½ hour sting operation.
The Regional Street Enforcement Team, which conducted the bust, says it’s part of their aggressive effort to target the customers of prostitutes and reduce demand.
Prostitution is illegal throughout Nevada except in licensed brothels.
