LAS VEGAS — Nevada gambling regulators have blocked a former Golden Nugget and Wynn Resorts Ltd. executive from taking the first step toward a gaming license.
The three-person Gaming Control Board unanimously rejected Tim Poster’s request for a finding of suitability Wednesday.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that board members pressed Poster about illegal Internet sports wagering, hiding evidence from state investigators, and his relationship with a former strip club owner.
Poster co-owned the Golden Nugget in downtown Last Vegas with Tom Breitling in the mid-2000s. He later worked for Wynn Resorts and was named chief operating officer of Wynn Las Vegas in March. He resigned weeks after being promoted.
The decision will not prevent Poster from working with casinos as a consultant, or in a lower-level staff position.
