Water break damages New Frontier

New Frontier Treatment Center took a hard hit because of Fallon’s frigid temperatures.

According to Lana K. Robards, the office ceiling had partially collapsed.

Robards said there is an extensive amount of damage throughout the building that will more than likely take a while to fix. She said floors, carpet, walls and ceilings must be replaced as well as several office items.

“We have lost desks, chairs, filing cabinets, computers and many other office items,” Robards said. “The most important thing that we lost is infant items. We lost all of our diapers that we just received, so we won’t have any to give to parents over the holidays. We lost the majority of infant clothing as well.”

Robards said they are accepting donations for office supplies and diapers or anything infant related.

Robards said there is no word yet on the true extent of the damage, when the damage will be fixed or how much the restoration will cost.

“We will not know any information until an adjuster and a contractor come and look into things. Until that happens we are just doing our best to salvage what we can,” Robards said.

Robards said there have been several individuals and business that have stepped up to help New Frontier.

“I couldn’t be more grateful to our clients who helped us move important items out of the building quickly enough to save them,” she said. “Mayor (Ken) Tedford let us borrow one of the city’s generators to keep the four offices that didn’t get damaged up and running.”

In the meantime, she said the displaced staff and services will be housed at temporary locations until the damage can be fixed. The reception staff, intake case management and drug testing will be housed at 1919 Grimes Ave., Suite B. Adult drug court, DUI diversion and some outpatient services will be held at the Old Post Office, 90 N. Maine St., Suite 200 and 202. She said all services will go on as scheduled but some may have a new location.

Robards said their phones are working and numbers remain the same. The receptionist will direct clients to the right location for the services. She said anyone who has questions should call 775-423-1412 and for after hour assistance, call 775-427-4040.

Robards said the city of Fallon is letting them borrow two offices in the Old Post Office for services, CC Communications worked quickly to get New Frontiers telephone and internet back up and Akins Construction swiftly allowed them into two offices in one of their buildings.

“I am so thankful for everyone who has stepped in to helped since the flood has happened,” she said.
